Cary started in the Security Industry in 1987 before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1988. Over the last 20 years, he has worked in various fields of the Personal Protection, Security, Surveillance, and Private Investigations industries. He formed Kern and Associates in 2001, and later Incorporated in 2008 forming Solutions Security, Inc. in Denver, Colorado.
Recently, he has worked with the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service during the Dalai Lama visit to Seattle, Washington, and with the U.S. Secret Service during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Denver, Colorado in August 2008. In the events leading up to the DNC, he conducted security and transportation operations for Governor Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic National Party and former 2004 Presidential Candidate.
The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) hired Mr. Kern as a Consultant for the convention. Cary has worked security operations for the U.S. Department of Defense, Fortune 500 companies, Executives, Political leaders and other individuals. He has extensive experience in surveillance operations and investigations. Cary is an Affiliate Firearms Instructor with Executive Security International.
Cary holds the Internationally recognized designation of Certified Protection Specialist (CPS) by Executive Security International (E.S.I) in Aspen, Colorado. He specializes in Preemptive Intervention, Human Behavior and Risk Management. Cary is a Certified Instructor in the field of Aggression Management by The Center for Aggression Management in Orlando, Florida, under Dr. John Burns. Dr. Burns’ teachings offer a vital approach to identifying, measuring, and managing aggressive behavior, unique and vital to the Security Industry.
Cary was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1996 at the rank of Sergeant.
